The monthly kungfu competition was held as scheduled for June 30th. Despite the intense summer heat, the students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm. The intention of holding such a competition is to stimulate students’ zeal in practising kungfu, exchange experiences and thus make progress together.

The manager of our kungfu academy announced the competition rules and scoring criteria, and Master Chen declared the competition open. There were two teams taking part in the contest—the wushu class and the health preserving class. The latter team was mainly scored on the display of basic training and the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong; and the former mainly on Fu Hu Quan as well as basic training. Among the participants, apart from those who came from the Chinese mainland and Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan, there were dozens of overseas students from Canada, Germany, Britain, South Africa, Sweden, Belgium and Cambodia.
