Dream of the Butterfly

On October 25, 2008, students of our academy were invited by the camera crew of Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre to perform as guest 'extra' actors. So the fellow apprentices were more than eager to have a try! However, only a dozen students were needed, so sadly I didn’t have the opportunity to find fame on the silver screen and stayed in the academy.

I still remember the time when I watched the TV play—Shaolin Temple, in which the lives of the monks were spent fetching water and cutting firewood everyday, it moved me deeply. At that time, I didn’t understand why did some people thought fetching water could be a hard job... or how it could possibly help to prepare kung fu students to achieve first-class quan. I remember thinking that if I had been one of those monks , I would have already been an intelligent apprentice with a solid basic foundation, and would have been the apple of my master’s eye!

It has been years since then, my childhood innocence has long gone, but my dream wasn’t shattered, because I came to the academy and now I study the authentic Wudang kungfu. I have come to the realization of why some people think it hard to train. It is only by undergoing such labours that it was possible for me to reach this understanding.

Clear brooks are running through the mountains, and the reliable water supply frees us from the pains of fetching water. Similarly, many attractive facilities, such as television, network etc., have subverted my world. As a result, I am at a loss for a moment. Fortunately, my fellow apprentices came back soon, and we played happily together, so I didn’t bother to think negatively.

Accidently, I saw the photos taken by them and thought the scenery beautiful, then I asked how do they feel about it, they said with one voice that there were nothing special, only a blade of grass, a brook or a hill something thing like that.

Maybe it’s true that many people are incapable of appreciating the beautiful when they stay longer in a better environment, which proves the saying that lookers-on see more than player. However, when I reflect upon myself, I used to and I am making such stupid mistakes.　　

The inaction comes out of the action, the existence of the two is interdependent. The simple life that Chuang Tzuled and his broad vision filled my heart with awe. I t is who you are living with and whether you are doing what you really like that matters but not who and where you are.

Maybe it’s the passage of time that makes me lose both my ambition and persistence in pursuiing dreams, but in my deep heart, my longing for a life free like graceful like Chuang Tzu, successful like Confucius, merciful and upright like Mencius becomes more and more stronger.

Who is able to predict the future? What we can do is be responsible for what you are doing, and then god will not let you down. I will be completely satisfied wtin only dreaming butterfly.
